Puffins Terms and Conditions

Our main aim at Melody Art is to provide you with a service or product that more than meets your expectation, we will be very disappointed if we do not achieve that aim.

Rental rules

Puffins, The Old Tannery, High Street, Porlock, Minehead, TA24 8PU

The contract

The contract entered into is between D Hawtin (The owner) and the renter of Puffins (the Hirer).  The contract is only effective once the booking form has been completed and the required payment received.  The contract is subject to English Law.  Reference hereafter to ‘the owner’ includes ‘his agent’.

Payment

For reservations made more than 8 weeks before the start of the holiday a deposit of £50 or the full amount is payable, the balance is due 4 weeks before the start date.  Payment at this time can be made by cheque made payable to ‘Melody Art’ or by card payment via phone to Melody Art.

The total holiday cost is payable not later than 4 weeks before arrival.  Failure to make full payment at the appropriate time may result in cancellation of the booking and forfeiture of the deposit, please note no reminder is sent.

Cancellation

The hirer is strongly advised to arrange holiday cancellation insurance.

The hirer should notify the owner of any cancellation immediately via email to contact@melodyart.com.

Cancellation notified more than 8 weeks prior to the start date will be refunded in full less the deposit.

Cancellations made with less than 8 weeks notice will be charged at the full rental price.  For cancellations made with less than 8 weeks notice the owner will make every effort to re-let Puffins and if successful will make an appropriate refund.

We reserve the right to cancel any booking if the property becomes for reasons beyond our control unavailable subject to refunding any sums you have paid but we will not be under any other liability.

Care of Puffins

The hirer is responsible for Puffins during their occupation and for leaving it in good order and in a clean condition.  The hirer is responsible for ensuring all members of their party behave in a responsible manner both in relation to Puffins and the general neighbourhood.

We do not take a breakages deposit but will charge the hirer for any breakages damages not notified or considered to be beyond normal wear and tear.

For any issues that may arise during your stay please notify Melody Art.

We reserve the right to cancel any booking if the property becomes for reasons beyond our control unavailable subject to refunding any sums you have paid but we will not be under any other liability.

The property is fully furnished with bedding and towels being provided, any shortage should be notified on the day of arrival.

We recommend you bring your own beach towels, we do not permit towels or linen to be removed from Puffins.

Number of people using the holiday accommodation

Under no circumstances may more than 4 people occupy Puffins, although if notified before arrival we may make an exception for babies using a travel cot or similar.  Admittance may be refused if this condition is not observed.

The owner reserves the right to refuse or revoke bookings from parties which may in their opinion be unsuitable for Puffins.  In such circumstances, all hire charges will be refunded in full and the contract be discharged.

Liabilities

The owner cannot accept liability for loss of any nature suffered by any person from any cause whatsoever arising in connection with that person’s occupation or attendance at Puffins.

Any information given and on our web site is believed to be correct at the time of going to press.

Complaints procedure

The hirer must notify the owner immediately if a problem arises, we will do our best to rectify it as soon as possible to ensure you can enjoy the rest of your holiday.

The owner cannot make any recompense for any problem that we are not made aware of during your stay and within 24 hours of the problem.

On no account will complaints be accepted after the end of your holiday.

Note we will not enter into correspondence concerning complaints made upon departure or after your return home.

We are however, very interested in maintaining and improving the standard of your holiday experience and welcome constructive suggestions as to how we can improve Puffins.

Pets

Due to family allergies we do not accept pets.

Noise

The hirer agrees not to make any noise audible outside of Puffins between 11.00pm and 7.00am.

Smoking

This is a non smoking property.

Arrivals and departures

Puffins is available after 3pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure.

No early check-in or late checkout unless agreed in advance by the owner.

Access arrangements will be notified to the hirer two weeks before arrival.

The apartment must be left in a clean and tidy condition with doors and windows closed.

Please leave spare keys on the dinning table and post the key through the letterbox on departure.
